赤江かふお 即興アクリル画展｜2025年7月11日（金）〜27日（日）

展示概要

眠る直前、静かな一日の終わりに──。
初めて手にしたアクリル絵具とF4キャンバスに、記憶と都市の断片を即興で描きとめた全20点。

本展は、現代美術・視覚文芸・身体表現を横断するアーティスト・赤江かふおによる、2025年6月以降に連続制作された即興アクリル画シリーズの初公開です。
制作時間は1作あたり15分〜1時間。構図・色彩・言葉を即座に統合しながら、都市的身体感覚と社会的視線が交差する絵画世界を展開します。

会場は、神奈川県横須賀市の古民家改装スパイスカレー店「hatis AO」。
そこは自然豊かな道を探検するとふと現れる、不思議な建築、空間。
まるで真夏の陽炎のよう青い、もしかして2度と戻れないようで、いつもそこにある日常。
美味しいカレーとコーヒー、ドリンク（アルコール有り）で自然と会話が始まるところ。
「まよなか」に生まれた作品が、「まひる」の食卓に届きます。

そして全世界から、インターネットの世界でも、追体験をしながら夏のひと時を過ごしていただけます。

作家プロフィール

赤江かふお（Akae Kafuo）
1985年京都市下鴨生まれ。
現代美術・視覚文芸・身体表現を横断するアーティスト。
横須賀在住。「欲望」「記憶」「都市」「匿名性」などを主題に、身体を通じた感情と視線の構造を描く。舞踏家・緊縛師との共作や即興ドローイング、水彩連作《同棲物語》など、都市と個人をめぐる物語を多層的に展開。

本シリーズでは、「眠りに入る前に描くこと」を日課とし、日々の情報過多を静かに整える“まよなかの儀式”としての制作行為が作品化されています。

Exhibition Overview

At the quiet end of each day, just before falling asleep—
Akae Kafuo picks up acrylic paints and an F4-sized canvas for the very first time. In these spontaneous moments, fragments of memory and urban life are transcribed onto the surface.

This exhibition marks the first public showing of a new impromptu acrylic painting series created continuously since June 2025 by Akae Kafuo, an artist who navigates across contemporary art, visual literature, and body expression.

Each piece is completed in 15 to 60 minutes. Through instant integration of composition, color, and words, the works unfold a world where urban sensibilities and societal gazes intersect on canvas.

The venue, hatis AO, is a spice curry café in a renovated traditional house in Yokosuka, Kanagawa.
A place nestled among greenery, with a mysterious structure that suddenly appears like a mirage.
It feels like a fleeting summer shimmer—so ephemeral you might never return, and yet, it’s always there.
Here, delicious curry and coffee naturally invite conversation.

These “midnight-born” works reach the “midday” tables of real life.
And from anywhere in the world, you can share in this experience online.

Artist Profile

Akae Kafuo
Born 1985 in Shimogamo, Kyoto.
An artist working across contemporary art, visual literature, and performance.
Now based in Yokosuka, Akae’s work explores themes such as desire, memory, the city, and anonymity—constructing emotional and visual structures through the body.

In addition to collaborations with butoh dancers and rope artists, she produces impromptu drawings and the watercolor series Living Together Stories, capturing multi-layered narratives of individuals and the city.

This series is built on a daily ritual: painting just before sleep. Each act serves as a “midnight ceremony” to quietly reorganize the day’s overflowing information.
